Friday Five Favorite Things

Songbird offers the following lovely challenge:

"In a week of wondering how various things in our family life will unfold, I found myself thinking of the way Maria comforted the Von Trapp children in one of my favorite movies. Frightened by a thunder storm, the children descend upon her, and she sings to them about her favorite things, taking their minds off the storm.

So, let's encourage ourselves. Share with us five of your favorite things. Use words or pictures, whatever expresses it best."

Oh!
Perfect timing!
It's been a difficult week...

Favorite thing #1:The scent of a freshly peeled/cut grapefruit

Favorite thing #2:Finishing a wonderful book.

Favorite thing #3:John Rutter's Magnificat, particularly et misericordia

Favorite thing #4: Golden retriever puppy fur.Anything about a golden retriever.

Favorite thing #5: Earl Grey tea, with just a splash of milk.

John Rutter is one of my favorites also. The first song I sang was "For the Beauty of the Earth". Still like it.

Maybe we were separated at birth! Your play was wonderful - I love Rutter's Deep Peace...and all of Alexander McCall Smith's books!

Your comments were so sweet (and friendly) at my blog.

Love your pictures. I have boxes of Earl Grey tea--wish you could come over for a cuppa.

Golden retrievers are warm and loving dogs.

Next time we head to Gulf Shores, you all are welcome to join us and bring the pup! My Rigby would love the company.

Prayers for you and hubby during this time of discernment...mine was laid off over a year ago and finally has his own business going. Though stressful at times (ha!), it was and is a God-thing.

I love to sing Rutter. Our choir has done the Requiem and many of his anthems, but not the Magnificat yet.
What a precious puppy! I saw a golden Labradoodle puppy today. Cute, cute, cute.
And what a lovely grapefruit--it looks like the wonderful Ruby Reds we have down here.
Thanks for stopping by!

Grapefruit? No thanks.
Tea? Got any coffee?

Rutter? Good books? NOW you're talking! :-)

Good play, and thanks for stopping by my place.

Oh...why haven't we met before? This is a list after my own heart. I grew up not far from Brede and know and love that book so much...Sang Rutter with Rutter conducting in my student days...Golden retrievers are definitely the way forward for humanity...and Earl Grey is the thing that gets me started every morning. When are you coming to stay??

Except for the Earl Grey with milk (I adore it milkless), I'd go along with your entire list.

Fun play!

I like a bit of sugar lightly sprinkled on the grapefruit. (Not that you're asking!) :)
